Facial rollers are basically like paint rollers but for your skin.Kidding aside, facial rollers have great benefits for the skin but some are very skeptical about this supposed trend. Arising questions from some are do they really work? For some they love it and do it religiously while others think it's a a trend that's too expensive.
According to online website, "The origins of the jade beauty roller lie in Chinese history. These beautiful tools were once used by the elite to keep skin beautiful and women ageless. Known as the “Stone of Heaven”, jade was and still is a sought after cool green stone as beautiful as it is useful. In ancient times, the naturally cool properties of jade were used by Mayans and Egyptians to aid with muscle relief in massage."
Michelle Balingit a content creator and a lifestyle blogger saw a lot of other bloggers use them and out of curiosity she wanted to try them herself.
There a re different types of rollers but the one that she ended up liking and buying was the rose gold roller because Balingit noticed her skin got better and that specific roller worked well with the products she used.
Some disagree and think buying facial rollers because they think that they are just a trend... The lifestyle blogger stated, " I don't think it's a trend it has been used for centuries before it became a trend. When it comes to trying new things I always do my research."
Similarly, Maya Victoria, a LA resident and a mother of one is 100% for the facial rollers.
While Balingit uses the rose gold roller, Victoria on the other hand uses the jade roller because for her it boosts collagen and helps her wake up in the morning.
Victoria doesn't know if facial rollers are a hype or just a [hase in the beauty inudstry bcause skin care is always evolving but she hopes it sticks around but she wouldn't be surprised if something comes at replaces it.
Although according to the LA resident facial rollers do work, "But everyone's skin is different. If I used my jade roller alone with no skin care routine, I don't think my skin would look the way it does. However I do notice the difference when I don't use my jade roller."
While Balingit and Vicotria are for these facial rollers, another LA resident Sabrina Formalejo is not for the facial rollers.
Formalejo was close to buying the facial rollers but then she saw a twitter post from a dermatologist that stated facial rollers doesn't have any benefits and that it's a waste of money because it is just a gimmick.
Additionally Formalejo thinks that they are overpriced and people would purchase it because of the hype. "But I think they're the hype because influencers on Instagram or any beauty guru uses them (facial rollers) to promote the product.
"I don't use facial rollers because it seems like its expensive. It's possibly a fad but it is definitely popular" LA resident and information technologist Lili Kopen stated.
For Cal State Long Beach University student Justine Santos does not use them but would like to use them."I have so much redness and puffiness in my cheeks and they are similar to massage rollers so I would like to try it out."
With most of the beauty or even skin care trends people will either hate it or love it. But I will say it's very popular right now. I personally like it, do you use facial rollers, if so which ones and why... comment below!
